Is there a “parallel” music industry that just copies famous songs? While eating at a Chinese restaurant today I found myself having to listen to lots of famous, more or less recent pop songs (e.g., Taylor Swift – Anti Hero, stuff from Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran). Something was off though. I first didn't notice it, but then I realized: those songs weren't performed by the original artists. Instead, it was all knockoff...
