This is new, exciting, terrifying, and I'd love other perspectives. *travel in January/February. Family trip with two kids (2, 5). Budget: $15-20k, but a bit flexible for this trip-of-a-lifetime. Safety is top priority. Adventure is good up to a point, which is why you don't see Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (although I desperately want to visit those places, just not with my kids).
