Bank wrote off an account as bad debt 10 years later? Credit score went down by 166 points. So about 10 years ago I had to go on disability and couldn’t pay my bills. I tried to work things out with some banks, but it wasn’t even close. I had to take the hit, stopped paying, and carried the bad debt stuff on my credit for years. My partner and I are now financially healthy, >800 credit scores and looking at buying a house. Today though...
