Can a mortgage lender charge me for a rapid rescore?
Can a mortgage lender charge me for a rapid rescore? Lender charged me $140 for a rapid rescore. After doing some reading I saw that the Fair Credit Reporting Act prohibits passing credit rescore costs directly or indirectly onto borrowers. Asked my loan officer about this and she said I will get the money back if the loan goes through. Is this a violation?
