Ever hear a line from a song that hits like it was written just for you in that moment in time? Two big examples from my past are: "No more speed I'm almost there" (Golden Earring, Radar Love) and "Now it seems to me some fine things have been laid upon your table, but you only want the ones that you can't get" (Eagles, Desperado). Both are from 1973, long before I became the well-adjusted normie I am today. /s
