I apparently got penalized by the IRS for filing late
I apparently got penalized by the IRS for filing late My CPA said they filed for an extension, and we even got a refund. We received a letter last night stating we were being penalized for not filing on time. It's over $3000, and the deadline is Nov. 20th. What is my next step? What should I do and who should I contact first?
