Is it a dumb idea to pay off my student loans? I’m 38 and these student loans have been hanging over my head for a long time. I owe 19K and I have 35K in my brokerage account. 19K of it uninvested earning 4.99% yield and the remaining in equities. I’d take the 19K sitting there for the one large sum payment.
