Is it legal for a company to tack on a 30-50% fee when they send you to collections? I'm in a dispute right now with a roofer who wildly over billed me and I'm trying to negotiate the bill down but in the mean time I've been getting emails from them about what I owe and the last one says if I'm sent to collections they will tack on 30-50%.
