I sold my home in February. Just received a letter from the county stating i owe $5k+ in property taxes on the home. What gives?
I sold my home in February. Just received a letter from the county stating i owe $5k+ in property taxes on the home. What gives? This is the first home I've sold, but I was under the impression that my closing fees included paying the property taxes owed on the home? Who do I need to reach out to to confirm this? Is it as simple as calling the county and letting them know I sold the home and paid the taxes owed already?
