Unable to transfer a mutual fund to a different brokerage in kind. Why? I’m transferring an account with multiple mutual funds from Fidelity to Vanguard, and they were able to transfer all the holdings as is (ie same funds, not liquidated) except one. Why would that be? I have to sell that fund through Fidelity and transfer the value as cash, which is fine. I just wonder why. It’s. Managed account and not tax advant...
