Should I save for a house or help my parents pay for theirs Im 31. I always wanted to buy a house by 32 so it would be paid off by retirement age. Now that interest rates are through the roof, my strategy is to save heavily for a couple of years for a bigger downpayment. My parents are retired so the stock market tanking has really hurt them.
