LPT: If you use products in Tetra-Pak cartons (e.g. broth, chai concentrate, milk, etc.), once they’re empty, flip up the two corner flaps on the bottom and the ones at the sides, and you’ll be able to press them perfectly flat so they don’t take up extra space in your trash/recycling.

I use a lot of chicken broth and Tazo chai concentrate and these things would make it so I had to empty the trash a lot more often until I figured out how easy it is to completely flatten them so I can just slide them along the side of my recycling bin. Now they barely take up any space at all and I can be lazy and empty my trash once a week.
