What are the drawbacks of “separate account” index funds in a Principal 401(k)?
What are the drawbacks of "separate account" index funds in a Principal 401(k)? Currently, I'm using the default/suggested TDF assigned when I set up my 401(k): "Principal LifeTime Hybrid 2055 CIT," with an expense ratio of 0.29%. I can change my investment options into low(er) cost index funds, which I'm familiar with. But they all have "sepeate account" following their description:
