Was brought to a hospital where I didn't have health insurance and the bill is astronomical, what can I do? Hi smart folks, I moved from Massachusetts to Jersey City a few months ago and was in the process of applying for NJ state health insurance (they sent me a letter asking for more info, etc). I think my Mass state insurance must have turned out when I moved---there is no way I would just let it lapse, and I didn't contact them telling them to can...
