Am I being foolish by pausing 401k payments to build my emergency savings?? How much do you put into your savings as a rainy day/ emergency fund? A lot of people follow the 3 month of expenses rule but I got laid off last year and it took me 6 months to find a new job and I went through all my savings to keep myself afloat. I put my other investment deposits on pause and now I have about 5-6 months of emergency savings...
