Is 529 really better than just investing in the markets ? As the title states, is taxes really the only factor 529 is preferred ? I have looked into it briefly for my kids but the restrictions and lack of fund choosing made me unsure if I want to put the money there for my kids. My kids are younger than 5 and I feel just putting the money in s&p and not trying to complicate it would yield a good retur...
