In what life scenarios would it be better tax-wise to have a Roth 401k over a regular 401k?
In what life scenarios would it be better tax-wise to have a Roth 401k over a regular 401k? I understand that traditional 401ks are funded with pre-tax dollars, so you will pay tax upon withdrawal, while Roth 401ks are the opposite. What I don’t understand is, if you withdraw your 401k once retired, isn’t it very likely you’ll be in a lower tax bracket than in your employed life since you have no (or fewer) streams of income?
