Is there any truth to that whole "call the billing department and negotiate" thing, in regards to medical bills? Hey all. I make $80,000 a year, and was just charged about $2,400 USD after a procedure at a hospital. My insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO) covered most of it, and this $2,400 is what I'm left with. They're offering a $70/month payment plan. At my income, is there any point in trying to call the billing department? What would I even say? Is...
