Is it worth buying a house now at my age? I'm mid 40s with two young kids. currently renting. if i buy a home now i likely won't have it paid off before retirement age (assume a 30 year fixed loan which is all i'd do). i'd have to hope and pray that it hasn't lost value when the time comes to downsize and when i'm living off of a smaller retirement income. pros would be a bit of stabil...
