Urban areas with large pedestrian friendly streets like Gran Via in Madrid? I was recently marveling at the 1.3km Gran Via in Madrid. The pedestrian sidewalks are like 6 to 8 meters (20 to 26 feet). It feels so open and spacious while also having a ton of stores and development densely packed in. What other large urban areas worldwide have such feature in their downtown?
