LATAM experience this summer - quick review (Ecuador, Colombia) TLDR: Flying on LATAM had cheap fares but unenforced or bizarrely enforced carry on bag procedures, unpredictable fees, and was delayed 2 / 3 flights. Not sure what airline would be better, unfortunately! OVERALL: Not once did we get asked if we had paid for our carryon bags, so presumably you could risk just not paying for a carryon and see...
