Settled with debt collector, but balance lowered instead of disappearing?
Settled with debt collector, but balance lowered instead of disappearing? I went to pay a credit card collection, online it offered me a settlement amount with "Portfolio Recovery". Is this normal, or did they do something other than settle? The portal I paid at still shows payment processing, but it's been several days and the balance updated in credit karma. Ideas? Thoughts?
