Retiring in your 40s

Retiring in your 40s I'm doing some math and was hoping people can check it to see if what I'm thinking makes sense. Initially, I thought you needed at least 2.8 mil to comfortably retire. But it seems that if you have 1.8 mil, all invested in s&p 500 at a 7% return rate (hypothetically) and you pull out 10k per month, this money can roll for you indefinitely. Math ...
