Pay faster or invest I own a house with a mortgage rate of 2.875. My accountant told me that she recommends me to not to pay the mortgage faster ( currently I pay an extra 600 towards the principal which will pay my loan in 20 years vs. 30), and that some of the people she does the taxes for rather pay the mortgage for as long as possible.
