Credit card in collections on report for 4 years. Will it fall off after 7? Credit card went to collections in 2020. It's 4 years. Everywhere I read says after 7 years it will fall off the credit report. Also read and hear conflicting advice that if you answer the collection agency's call or letter it "resets" the clock. Is that true? Debating if I should just hold out another 3 years and let it fall off. Or try to scro...
