Is it safe to have 401k and ira account at same brokerage firm? I and my wife have 401k at one of the biggest firms(which is not in our control as emplyer gives no other options). Also she has her IRA at that firm. I am planning to open IRA account for me. Was just afraid to put all our retirement money in single firm.
