LPT Stop declaring publicly someone is your best friend, specially in front of other friends who aren’t. It’s an unnecessary comparison. Some friends of yours might even feel diminished why you awarded that "title" to someone. And just because you awarded that "title" to someone , that "best friend" person might not feel the same and can be left in an awkward position.
