Is my dad ready for retirement? My 65 y.o. dad (single) is considering retiring. Is he ready? He has: Paid off condo (est value of $950k in. VHCOL area) 300k in 401k 20k in hysa No other outstanding debts. Once retired he will also receive the following: 3 k / month social security (before tax) 4 k / month Cal perse pension (before tax) that will get COL raises per yr.
