LPT Keep a spare dog leash in your car for the next couple weeks Dogs often bolt when they hear fireworks, which makes the end of June/start of July prime time for dogs to be running loose in the U.S. Please note that I am not encouraging people to approach lost dogs who are scared! However, if it's safe for you to help a lost dog, you'll be glad you have a leash handy.
