LPT - If you’re worried about pick pockets of your backpack in a new place, use a small carabiner to connect your zippers together. Makes it just that much harder to get into your backpack certainly doing so slyly would be harder. Also the farthest apart they could get the zippers is a couple inches. Then, it’s easy enough for you to undo when you need access.
