I hate the new lonely planet format. I've always gravitated towards them because of their low-image, high-detail formats. But the new guides have many more pictures, many less facts, and are harder to navigate in my opinion. I feel like them trying to appeal to the mainstream has ruined the experience for me. I used to love reading up on my destination in a good book before leaving...
