What was the last instrumental song played on mainstream radio? When I was kid, I remember instrumental songs played on adult contemporary radio stations. Pieces like: Music Box Dancer Axel F Chariots of Fire At some point, that stopped. But I wonder when, at what the last musical work without lyrics that was ever played on non-classical, non-jazz radio. Any thoughts?
