LPT If you answer the phone and the police tell you a loved one has died, don't be the messenger 20 years ago I was home from college. Most of the fam went to brunch. I wasn't feeling it so I stayed back. I answered the phone at home and it was the Sherrif. My uncle was dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound. I was shaking taking the info down and thinking I would be a softer messenger, I told the family. It was a day burned in my memory....
