Why is my Interest Rate for Student Loans High? I thought I would post here thinking that at least a few people would know the answer. My sibling and I applied to Sallie Mae. I was given a way higher interest rate compared to them. I got 11.5% (defer) or 10.5% (interest payments). They got the lowest possible given of 4.50% (interest repayment).
