Parents were advised to pay me rent... I'm a landlord now, I guess? My parents are older and retired. They built an "in-law suite" attached to my house on my property and moved in with us. We get along fine, this is not a problem at all at the moment. Their financial advisor is helping them with medicare planning and advised them to pay me rent every month out of a pooled income trust. Also seems to make sense. ...
