LPT - If a tech offers to buy your car, it might be worth keeping it. Auto Technician's have a pretty keen awareness of how much life a vehicle has left in it and what's worth fixing or not. Something that's a $2K fix might seem like it's close to totaled, but could get you another couple of years out of an otherwise well running vehicle.
