Why is “No One Else” on Weezer’s first album (Blue) so creepy and psychotic?

Why is "No One Else" on Weezer's first album (Blue) so creepy and psychotic? Was the creepiness on purpose or did a young, insecure Rivers really feel this way? The song talks about how he doesn't want his "girl" to leave the house, laugh at anyone else's jokes, wear make-up when she isn't with him, etc
