What's a well-regarded act in a genre that you're into that just leaves you cold? I'm into rock, metal & punk and the band I always skip is Tool. DJs on rock shows always rave about them but their music is disjointed and goes on too long (and people are possibly going to tell me that that is the point). Bonus answer is Jack Black, he and his projects are just poor parodies of rock.
