Preparing for potential financial catastrophe (wife losing job) Ok so long story short my wife was moved around at work and her job, while seemingly safe, seems to have more potential for layoff in the coming year. There is just a suspicion and I don’t want to go into the details. In all likelihood she won’t be, but if she was, I want to prepare. I’ve realized that I haven’t actually budgeted in a long time....
