Is there research on the "rule of thirds"? I see pictures composed using the "rule of thirds" and I can see that they're aesthetically pleasing... but I can't tell if I actually like that the subject is exactly on a third line, or if it's just off-center. Maybe it's less that humans like things in thirds, and more that they like to have a main subject and for it not to be centered. Or ma...
