LPT: Put an ice cube in a ziplock bag in your freezer when you leave your home for a while. You could lose power for a few days while you are away and not know it because it came back on. If your ice cube has melted when you are back (could be frozen again but not in an ice cube shape), you know your food probably had time to spoil in your freezer.
