Upgrading gear with a budget of $1k I'm going to buy a new tripod, camera bag, and softbox (for portraits). I shoot mainly wildlife and landscape, so I'm hoping for a bag that is good for hiking and a tripod that is light but robust. If you had $1k CAD, so about $730 USD, which 3 would you pick?
