Can someone please explain property taxes to me? I bought a house last year, and my city just did a reassessment, last one done in 2019, for a 31% increase. Made me realize I really know nothing about property taxes. My question is, according to the city accessors site, in 2022 I should have been paying 5.71 per 1k of home value, but in reality I paid over double that looking at my statements ...
