Can I cash a $18k certified check at the issuing bank? If I take the $18k certified check to the issuing bank (Wells Fargo), will they cash it for me? I’ve taken checks to their issuing banks before, at most I had to pay a small fee, but they were all under $1,000. I don’t have an account with this bank. Would they force me to open one? If they did force me to open one, would the funds be available...
