Is the focal length on a kit lens different than other lenses? This article says "18mm kit lenses are equivalent to 28-30mm". A couple of days ago I asked suggestions for a wide-angle lens which I was suggested this 10-18mm lens. I'm currently trying to decide between the suggested lens and this 24mm prime lens.
