Why did I lose my whole check to fed taxes? I recently took a 2.5 week gig job to splurge on something. It was paying 12$/hr but my total yearly salary puts me at the 22% tax rate. I worked 14.75 hrs for the first half week with a (edit/ gross) pay at $177. Federal withheld $163.46. SoSec took $10.97 and Med is $2.57. I do not owe back taxes. I claim 0 dependents.
