I’m going to Hawaii (oahu) in late October and want to do the tourist stuff, but also don’t want to do anything that doesn’t necessarily support native Hawaiians. Is there a luau that isn’t put on by a bunch of white people where the money goes to conservation efforts for Hawaii?
I'm going to Hawaii (oahu) in late October and want to do the tourist stuff, but also don't want to do anything that doesn't necessarily support native Hawaiians. Is there a luau that isn't put on by a bunch of white people where the money goes to conservation efforts for Hawaii? Basically, I want to experience Hawaii, but not at the expense of the people that live there. Unfortunately, I am having to stay at one of those bigass hotels due to financial reasons, but my wife and I want to get some authentic, but culturally supportive (not exploitative) experiences. Any suggestions?
