LPT-request: how to rebuild self-discipline (impulse control)?

LPT-request: how to rebuild self-discipline (impulse control)? After a couple of really stressfull years I’ve developed the habit of drinking alcohol and (over)eating at night, when the rest of my family is asleep. It used to be real easy to self-deny but ‘it’ has become stronger than my ability to restrain myself. Where to start?
