Domestic USA travel just as expensive as international? My family (2 adults, 1 kid) spent $1200 earlier this year for a 4-day, 3 night vacation in a town 5 hours away driving. It was a semi-touristy small town with amazing outdoor activities. We visited during the shoulder season when price and crowd was still low.
