A friend(*) overlooked some hospital bills totaling less than $100 and it turns out they sent them to collections. paying it isn't a problem, but debt collectors have such a toxic reputation and I don't trust them at all, so I'm actually not sure if the smartest thing is to pay them, to dispute it, to just ignore them, or what.
